No, there isn't. These are two names for the identical drink. The difference is one name is Italian and the other is French.
Q. Does any machine make coffee faster then the other?
No. All machines will make one cup of espresso at the same speed.
Q. Does a large boiler give you better steam?
Larger boilers can store greater volume of steam reducing a loss of steam pressure and increasing steaming ability.

A cappuccino has espresso and steamed milk, that is the milk is a thick foam. Caffe Latte' is a espresso topped with hot milk and little foam.

It is a half cup of brewed espresso. The more water that is brewed through the coffee, the weaker it gets. A short cup is stronger and has more body.
Q. How many cups can each brewing head make in an hour?
This is a much asked question. The answers vary. As a rule of thumb each brewing head makes about 100 cups per hour of espresso. Keep in mind that NO machine makes espresso faster then another.. they are all the same.
Q. Are semi-automatic machines slower then automatic machines?
No. Semi-automatic machines will make espresso and cappuccino just as good and just as fast as an automatic.
Q. Do I need a water softener connected to my machine?
It is strongly recommended that you have one. Calcium build up in the machine is what will kill it.
Q. Do I need a water filter connected to my machine?
No. Filtered water will not improve machine performance. But if you have bad tasting water, it will improve the taste the coffee.
Q. Should I be concerned with service to my machine?
Any machine will eventually need service. Availabilty of parts, technical support, and easy of service is very important.
